Dear Archer,
You have been part of our family for 18 months, including those precious months when you were kicking me in my tummy. My world has turned upside down and right side up again. You have a gift for making mommy laugh, and for helping me to become a better person. Your daddy and I love you more than you can possibly know, and you have us wound so tightly around your little finger that we will never be free again (not that we want to be). Here are a few memories from the past nine months:
We used to call your hands “your friends” because they always made you happy, and you always had them nearby.
Your first food was rice cereal. You didn’t know what to do with it, so you simply spit it out.
You once shouted “OBAMA” in church- at the end of a prayer.
You sleep on your tummy with you bum in the air.
You growl at people, and throw your head back when you laugh- to reveal the four cute teeth you have at the front of your mouth.
You carry toys around in your mouth when you crawl, so you can bring them with you to a different part of the room.
You are the most determined person I have ever met. You are fearless, and very trusting that mommy will catch you when you fall.
You call everyone and everything “mama.”
You have gone by the following nicknames: Spunk, Lovie, Little Love, and most recently, Little Monster.
You look like your father, and are overjoyed when he comes home at the end of the day.
You take long walks with daddy on the weekends (so that mommy can have a little break).
We love you Archer, and look forward to many more months of being your parents.
With love,
Mommy
